For the very name Shanghai invokes nostalgic tales of bygone years. When men were drugged and shipped out to sea as sailors.

This game of Shanghai employs an ancient method of entrapment known as 'Custodian Capture', a ploy which dates back thousands of years.

Shanghai is a game that requires players to attack and can never be won by defensive play because every piece can move in ANY of SIX directions - often the whole length of the board - at any stage of the game. It is fast, exciting, totally absorbing and at an advanced level, requires a high degree of skill.

The object of the game is to trap and encircle your opponent until he is unable to move or is reduced to one piece.
