Lincoln
Was £36.99, Now £25.00 Lincoln is a fast-paced, card-driven strategy wargame set in the America Civil War - allowing you to refight the entire war at a strategic level in under two hours. Gameplay uses area movement and area control, with decks of cards providing your command choices and luck - there are no dice in Lincoln. The Union and Confederate playees each have their own card decks, reflecting the historical strengths and weaknesses of both sides. The underlying game mechanism is one of 'deck destruciton' - the opposite of deck building. You have to decide which cards are going to be sacrificed from your deck cycle to allow you to build units and provide leadership in battles. Building too any units can lead to problems with movement and combat, simulating the prolems of Southern States had as the war dragged on. Lincoln recreates the pressure under which President Lincoln openrated, unaware of the real weakness of his opponent. The Union player has to play a very good game to win - a few mistakes will cost you the war! The Confederate player has to make the best of a strong starting position - your resources will dwindle as the war rogresses! |
