This went pretty well with 100 people on the Saturday and 65 on the Sunday, spread around the hotel and also in the shop. The bar was well used for gaming as well as drinking (all the Bridge Bitter, specially laid on, was consumed), giving us more space than expected. The result was a particularly relaxed affair, with small groups of people happily playing away; the only downside was the relative difficulty recruiting players for the games on the outskirts, mainly affecting the wargaming. We will think of something to make that aspect work better next year. In the main board gaming area, however, players were finding games and enjoying themselves, it was working especially well for the encouraging number of newbies. The hotel staff were pleased and amazed at how very civilized our gamers are, so we expect to run the event again next year, around the same time. Watch this space.
