  Description

Centuries ago, in a secret enchanted forest, regal princes vied for control of magic amulets called Dragonstones. They paid handsomely for these stones and the inhabitants of the forest - Wizards, Magicians, and Gnomes, as well as Thieves, Witches, Trolls and many others - all searched for the magic Dragonstones to claim their rewards.

While this forest kingdom is now only a legend, travellers can still journey to the fabled Inn of Dragonstones to hear ancient tales and re-live the quest for the Dragonstones by competing against other adventurers in a legendary game of guile, bluff, and bold tactics.

Fist of Dragonstones is an exciting, closed-fits, bidding game. Outwit your opponents by using gold and magic coins to buy control of an ever-changing cast of enchanted character cards. Those characters' powers will help you collect valuable Dragon-stones; lend you magical powers; help you foil your playing companions; and convert your Dragonstones into victory.

Contains:
36 magic dragonstones
8 standard character cards
25 special character cards
3 blank cards
119 wooden coins
6 special scoring dice

There's more poker-like-bluffing in this than there is bidding. I found it fun and sometimes hilarious - all that fiddling behind the screen and rattling coins to make people wonder whether you were really going to bid or not.

It's a good filler for half and hour and for that reason, too, I think I may play this quite a lot over the years.

This is a Closed Fist (hense the name) bidding game.
Days of Wonder usualy produce atractive games, and this is no exception, the rules are well laid out and easy to digest.

Each player starts off with 8 Fairy gold (wich always comes back at the end of your turn), 2 Common Gold (when it is gone, its gone), and 5 silver coins (these are only used for tie-breaks and are also gone forever once spent). you also start out with 4 randomly drawn Dragonstones.
The idea is to win the game by getting 3 points. points are gained when you swap in your dragonstones to the bank.
As is suggested in the name, the dragonstones are the most important things here. The person who has the most is in a very strong position. Each turn 10 cards are auctioned to the players. each card has an ability that, if you win it, you must activate immidiatley. These are things like 'Trade any four dragon stones of one colour to the bank for 2 points', or 'steal one dragonstone from the second highest bidder'.
8 of these cards are set and included in each round of the game, there two powerfull random cards put in at the start of each round and bid on in the same manner. These can seriously alter the game and inject a lot of fun into the proceedings.

With four players who know what they are doing, this game is a really exciting experience. Sometimes it can become obvious what people are going to bid, but this only adds more strategy to the game. If you have two or more mates who dont mind bidding games then this is a defo winner.

This is basicaly a bidding game with some very nice twists.

The way you win is by getting three points and this is done in a very convoluted way. You have to collect gems and then convert the correct number of the correct colour in to points.

The way that all this is done is by bidding on cards and certain cards allow you to do certain things like collect gems, convert gems into points, steal gems, get gold etc. You bid on the cards using two types of gold one which you lose and one which you reclaim each time.

Each round of bidding starts by selecting two new cards to be bid on from a deck, these are then mixed in with a standard set of cards that you bid on every round, this bidding is done blind. Once you have won the card you use it there and then or keep it depending on the card.

This sounds like a simple game but bidding on and winning the correct cards to gain gems and score you the points in the right order and making sure others do not win the cards that they need is not easy.

I must admit that I like this game mainly due to the variablilty of each game there are a lot of extra cards that add a flavor to each round of bidding and every game is diffrent.
